At Stibbards, we can advise on a number of different ecologically friendly funeral options, from help with a choice of green burial site and the type of coffin, to arranging a non-religious officiant to take the service.

Green burial sites

We are fortunate that within our locality, we have the benefit of a number of green burial sites.

Thornton Meadows

Thornton Meadows is located in Ashingdon, just outside Rochford in the shadow of St Andrews Church. The site offers burials in a natural, open setting, which will be turned into a woodland glade as the burial places are taken. There is no Memorial Hall at the site but we will be more than happy to find a suitable venue for you should a service be required.

Woodside Cemetery

Woodside Cemetery is a municipal cemetery within the borough of Castle Point. The cemetery has a small woodland burial section and families are allowed to plant a tree on the grave once the burial has taken place. There is a service chapel at the cemetery that can be used to hold both religious and non-religious services.

Epping Forest Burial Park

Epping Forest Burial Park is located in North Weald, just outside Epping and is situated in mature woodland, which is managed to maintain its natural beauty. The burial park has many different types of graves, as well as meeting rooms and a memorial hall that can be used for services.

Coffins

We have a range natural, environmentally friendly coffins and caskets, all of which can be found here.
